A first-of-its kind, a heart-thymus transplant, is a success (NPR’s Morning Edition)

A Morning Edition tape & copy story that I helped produce about a pediatric surgery team at Duke University successfully performing a heart transplant and a thymus tissue transplant from the same donor, one-year-old Easton Sinnamon. By transplanting both, the odds of rejection by the body may be reduced. Click here to hear what the lead surgeon and the Easton’s mother had to say.
